SEM wins District 9-6A Sweepstakes and SIX teams will advance to regionals!

SEM Wins Second Place Sweepstakes at Mansfield Meet of the Minds
The Science and Engineering Magnet UIL team won the Second Place Sweepstakes trophy at the Mansfield Meet of the Minds on Saturday, November 1st! The Second Place Sweepstakes trophy is awarded to the team with the second highest number of sweepstakes points, which are earned for the school whenever an individual or team places in an event. Congratulations to everyone who competed for the effort you put forth to help SEM bring home this award. Individuals and teams that placed on Saturday are listed below. For each team that placed, the four team members are listed, even if they did not place 1st through 6th in the individual competition.

Sixteen students from the School of Science and Engineering at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center swept the academic competitions at the UIL Princeton Fall Classic on Oct. 5, taking first place in every event.
Students competed in number sense, calculator applications, mathematics, science and current events.
