Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for nearly 50 years. Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.

SEM will feature the winning entries in the yearbook, and PTSA newsletter, and will choose up to 20% or at least one entry from each category to advance to the Council/Regional level. It will then be reviewed and perhaps chosen to advance to State competition, and perhaps then on to National competition!

Arts Categories:

  • dance choreography
  • film production
  • literature
  • music composition
  • photography
  • visual arts

Students may enter the Reflections program in one or more arts categories with no limit to the amount of entries in a single category. See each arts category rules for additional entry requirements.

Student Eligibility:

The student or at least one person from their primary household must be a current member of the SEM PTSA. (Membership deadline is October 31, 2017.)

Visit the Texas PTSA 2016-2017 Reflections Gallery to see examples of entries from last year.
